Following the death on the road of a pony named Jasmine, in 1993, the Jasmine Safety Track Trust (JSTT) was formed.

Being a Trust, the JSTT is permitted to own assets, including land, and works closely with, but independently of, the CVBA.

Following the purchase by the JSTT of some tracks, horse riders have been able to by-pass some busy, dangerous roads.  The tracks in question are the Memorial Track in Bucks Hill;
the Narrows in Chipperfield; and the track to the side of Langley Road, Chipperfield which begins opposite Meggs Lane and ends by the Land Rover garage.  The Narrows was subsequently dedicated as a bridleway so that we have been able to add to our bridleway network at a time when many are being lost all over the country.

In the Sarratt/Flaunden area the JSTT has been able to negotiate the long-term use of several field edges as safety tracks.  These are the Flaunden Lane track running from near Belsize, past Whitedell Farm and up to Newhouse Lane; and the Bragmans/Moonshine track, off Bragmans Lane, which runs down to Chenies Hill above the Chess Valley.

The JSTT works with landowners and farmers in seeking their permission for horse riders to use their land and avoid the need to use ever more dangerous roads.  As a result of this work, we have an additional five permissive tracks.  These tracks are open to all horse riders and are provided free of charge.  See the Gallery for some pictures.

We find that meeting the necessary annual costs for maintenance, rent and insurance, together with ongoing expenses, is a constant challenge.  We rely SOLELY on donations and fund raising activities to keep the tracks open.

Midsummer Update - Just to make things clear, JSTT tracks are ridden by the kind permission of the land owners, and can be withdrawn at any time the land owners wish. The hedges are not cut back till much later in the year due to the  protection of wildlife. JSTT rely on donations to maintain the tracks, any donations are always welcome and can be dropped into Whitedell Farms letter box at anytime.  Please be aware that the tracks are due to be closed to enable maintenance to take place.

Also - if you would like to make a contribution to the JSTT, you can download and complete the JSTT Donation form here - donation form.
